Canon 24mm F2.8 IS Lens Arrives

I recently had to do some run-n-gun in a dark interior. Whilst my Canon 35mm F2 IS (mounted on my Sony FS5 via a Metabones Speedbooster Ultra T) has a lovely smooth focus ring and was fast enough, at times it was just not wide enough. I have a Tokina 14-20mm F2 which is plenty fast and wide enough (although it lacks any kind of IS - image stabilisation - of course, so is not totally ideal for hand held work). I also have the Canon EF-S 17-55mm F2.8 IS but that has a horrible focus ring on it for hand held work! There is no perfect lens but these days I'm leaning more and more towards using fast, prime lenses (even for run-n-gun).
Saw a "mint condition" Canon 24mm F2.8 IS on eBay and decided to bid for it. This 24mm is the widest Canon prime lens that has IS. It's slightly smaller and lighter than the 35mm F2 IS but was introduced at a similar time, about 5 years ago. In the end I got it for £275 including delivery (a new one would have been £433). Not bad!
Lens is exactly as described, mint condition. Not had much chance to shoot with it yet (although it certainly seems to produce lovely and sharp stills on my Canon 7D). Pretty good focus ring (although not quite as smooth as my 35mm) and the IS on it is, like the 35mm, whisper quiet too.
Lens options are always good!
